(I’m sending you this message via your blog because I was having trouble contacting you through the Every Day Fiction web site)

Dear editors of Every Day Fiction,

I write the featured market review column for the monthly flash fiction e-newsletter, Flash Fiction Flash, edited by Pam Casto, and want to know if I could interview you or another editor for an upcoming issue. If you are interested, I can send you questions that you can answer at your convenience. The purpose of the interview would be to introduce your publication to prospective writers. Check out the Newsletter here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FlashFictionFlash/

Readers of this column specialize in writing flash fiction (also known as quick fiction, micro-fiction, sudden fiction, short-short fiction–as you are probably already aware). There are approximately 2,000 international subscribers to this newsletter who are always on the lookout for new markets. I found your publication while reviewing literary markets at Duotrope.com. One month after appearing in the newsletter, I publish your interview on my personal web site which you can view by clicking the link below. Thanks for your time.

    Best,

Loved your take on how to handle unresponsive markets. I find it so hard to wait for months and nothing–and I’ve had it with Adbusters–I’m not dealing with them any more. But your idea of sending the slush is tempting…

    Thanks D J,

We had quite the discussion about it in the comments. Scott raised the point that if you submit to Adbusters (or a market like it), you can’t submit to >other
