How did it happen?

On February 2nd, Alicia arrived home from her morning tutoring session and found a stranger in her house. That stranger was Stacey Jones, and she had a rose and a note from Jordan in her hands. Scattered around the city, Stacey explained, were seven more notes and seven more roses, each at a special location.

The first clue sent them to Earls On Top where they first met over 2 1/2 years ago. Next stop was for a manicure and a massage, then off they went again, criss-crossing the city, and gradually making their way north. At around 8pm, Alicia and Stacey arrived in Harrison Hot Springs resort, where a final clue awaited them.

This clue was for Alicia only, and asked her to find their special tree, where they had kissed the first time they had gone to Harrison. It was dark, a blanket of snow lay on the ground, and a cool breeze was blowing off the glacier fed lake. Obviously, Jordan had not thought this through. Alicia found a shivering figure standing under a Narnia-esque lamppost. Despite the cold, Jordan bent to one knee and presented her with a ring which she accepted!
